This special event was hosted by San Diego's very own Gregory Page and featured guests, including actor John C. Reilly, San Diego folklorist Lou Curtiss, North Dakota singer-songwriter Tom Brosseau, and other surprise guests. The event was free and open to all ages at the Casa del Prado Theater, 1600 Village Place, in Balboa Park.
The audience enjoyed a great night of old-fashioned entertainment, including songs new and ancient, close harmonies, and storytelling, all amplified around the use of a single mic.
Mr. Gregory Page, a very talented song and dance man, hosted the evening in the variety show format with San Diego's folk music mainstays Lou and Virginia Curitss who unearthed some of the great songs of yesteryear and, for the Centennial Celebration, and shared memories of Balboa Park when it first opened. The performance featured American actor and singer John C. Reilly, North Dakota singer-songwirter Tom Brosseau, San Diego pianist and composer Sky Ladd, and special surprise guests.
