Beginning January 17, 2015
The Natural History Museum is finishing construction on Coast to Cactus, a 9,000 square foot, $9 million dollar permanent exhibition that takes visitors through the amazingly varied habitats of Southern California. In Coast to Cactus visitors will tour from the beach to the mountains and the deserts, exploring the rich animal and plant life through the region with immersive, life-sized dioramas, interactives, and live animals. The exhibit also explores how humans have become key players in these habitats, affecting the natural processes and changing relationships of animals, humans, and landscapes. The grand opening of Coast to Cactus is scheduled for January 17, 2015, just in time for the 2015 celebration.
