 May 9, 2015

The City hosted the “Garden Party of the Century” on Saturday, May 9, 2015 in Balboa Park. The Garden Party was a free day-long affair and was the signature event for spring during the City’s Centennial Celebration honoring the Panama-California Exhibition of 1915. Working in partnership with the San Diego Floral Association, Botanical Foundation, Friends of Balboa Park, San Diego Zoo, and Fern Street Circus, and others, the Garden Party featured a Centennial inspired flower show, Master Gardener demonstrations, garden tours, special horticulture discussions and a wide variety of music, art, and activities for the whole family.  There was a Kid's Floral Wagon Parade, where children, families, and community groups decorated wagons in a floral theme and pulled from Spanish Village to the Plaza De Panama.
